How to Prepare Your Garage Before Coating Day

One Week Before

Confirm your appointment window and ask any last questions about vehicle access during the cure period. If you have any wall-mounted items — cabinets or shelving — let us know whether you'd like us to detail around them or if you'd rather move them temporarily.

Clear the Floor Completely

Vehicles, bikes, loose totes, sports equipment, and any holiday decorations need to come off the slab — anything sitting directly on the floor. Plan to move parked cars out for the full installation window, not just the morning.

Handle Wall-Mounted & Heavy Items

Cabinets and shelving bolted into wall studs can typically stay in place; we mask and detail carefully around them. Free-standing shelving units should be temporarily relocated, since the entire slab underneath needs to be worked during grinding and coating.

Disconnect What You Can

Unplug any freezers, refrigerators, or garage-mounted equipment sitting directly on the floor so it can be moved out of the way, or let us know in advance if something truly can't be relocated so we can plan around it.

Plan for the Cure Window

Arrange alternate parking for 48–72 hours after installation. If you use a garage-entry door daily for mudroom access, plan an alternate entrance during that window — the door itself stays accessible, but the floor nearby will still be curing.

What You Don't Need to Do

There's no need to pressure wash, clean, or pre-treat the slab yourself — that's handled by our diamond grinding process. Skip any DIY degreasing before we arrive; it isn't necessary and won't speed anything up.
